May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14
Both blessings and curses come out of our mouth from our heart. God takes what we speak very seriously. That is why the psalmist wrote this prayer that our words would be pleasing unto Him. God does not curse us but blesses us instead. We curse ourselves by participating in sin and by curses that come out of our mouth. The sin and curses are born in the meditations of our heart. We bring blessing to ourselves when we bless God ourselves and others around us.

It is God’s nature to bless and He is delighted and pleased when we speak blessing to Him and others. That is why our words are so powerful in our fight against fear. Our positive words and our loving meditations bring us into a place where we can experience God to be our rock and our redeemer.
