Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:7
This passage is a clear indication of how things really work in the physical and the spiritual realm. Chariots represent the inventions that we use to intimidate or control others to get our way. This is opposed to asking the Lord to create unity by the use of prayer and love. Because God is love, it is the most powerful force in the universe. No weapon ever created can come close to His power or usefulness. This is because love is in the heart of God and He designed relationships to root out fear and create harmony in the Kingdom of God.
This passage indicates that we should choose to trust in the name of the Lord. This means that we give leadership to the Lord in any situation that confronts us. This is how God designed things to run at their optimum levels. We can share in this success when we choose God’s leadership over our lives. Our efforts for power and control will fail, but God’s plan is the best and it will not fail.
