But be sure to fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things He has done for you. I Samuel 12:24

To serve the Lord effectively, you must mediate on the attributes and works of the Lord. When you serve someone, you think of their desires, thoughts and ways. A person usually makes the one that they are serving the object of their attention or affection. If you are someone’s servant and only serve halfheartedly, you couldn’t be their servant very long.

The Lord Jesus Christ served his Father in heaven wholeheartedly with every ounce of strength that He had. Jesus poured His life out as a faithful expression of His service to Father God. Since we are to be like Jesus in all things, we would faithfully serve God.

When we have the mind of Christ, we will desire to serve God with all our heart. Seeking the mind of Christ will enable us to serve God in a way that brings the glory and praise to Him.
