One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple. Psalm 27:4

If we could choose any house to live in, would it not be the house of the Lord? This is exactly my point. We can choose the house of the Lord by committing our lives to Christ by accepting His forgiveness for our sins, and by inviting Him into our hearts. By doing this, we will make the house of the Lord our eternal residence. Our problem is that we get distracted by so many things that we do not choose the one thing, the most important thing, which is an intimate relationship with Christ Himself.

The wretchedness of our lives can rip away the fragments of beauty and intimacy. Therefore, David longed to gaze upon the Lord’s magnificent qualities and know Him intimately and regain this beauty, being of one mind with His heart.

We need to only look around the earth to behold the many awesome things that the Creator God of everything beautifully made. Do not forget that we ourselves are the most precious creation of God.
