I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Psalm 27:13

Would it not be wonderful for us if we could eliminate all uncertainty in our life? We have trouble deciding what we can place our confidence in, but David had no doubts, and decided to place his confidence in the goodness of the Lord.

It is a popular saying found in a song that God is good, and He is good all the time. David knew this was true way before this song was ever written. Who knows? Maybe he even wrote this song himself. He certainly could have because he was very sure of the Lord’s goodness towards him.

People say that someday it will be so good because I won’t have to suffer anymore. But for them, that someday never comes. David was so confident, that he was expecting to experience this when he was still alive. What would our days be like if our minds and hearts could experience the goodness of the Lord like a rich and abundant banquet each day? Instead, we too often expect a meager table of blessings and provision from the Lord. Do we not receive what we expect?
