Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in Him. Psalm 32:10

Sin brings devastation, destruction and disaster to those who engage in that lifestyle. The saddest part of this tale is that the full payment doesn’t come until the end of life and lasts into eternity.

Sin is deceptive and fleeting like the vapors of the air or the fog that disappears into nothing. It promises you everything but gives you nothing in the end, except additional grief, pain and sorrow. Therefore, the psalmist wrote many are the woes of the wicked.

In contrast, the Lord promises unfailing love, care and goodness to those who trust in Him. This is also peace for the soul and more health for the body. The unfailing love of the Lord is like the light of the sun shining upon us; but the woes of the wicked bring us darkness, anxiety and confusion. The unfailing love of the Lord is like the tender compassion and gentleness of a mother and father over their newborn baby. The unfailing love of the Lord is like a constant breath of fresh air or a warm embrace that comes from feeling deeply loved. Part of the Lord’s unfailing love is a continuous invitation to be treasured and appreciated in a way that deeply affects the heart. This will continue for us even as we draw our last breath. Blessed is the man who learns how to trust in the Lord’s unfailing love.
