I will wait for You, O Lord; You will answer, O Lord my God. Psalm 38:15

This psalm is full of reverence, faith and trust. These are three main qualities that we will use to crush the plans of our enemy. Reverence is the opposite of fear. When we are filled with the reverence of God, we are not afraid. His incomparable greatness fills our being and leaves no room for the emptiness of being afraid.

Faith is the antidote of fear. We can either be full of faith or full of fear. In fact, we choose faith or fear many times during the day. Fear steals our confidence and causes us to be nervous resulting in rash decisions. This impetuousness leads us to sin and trouble that is the delight of the devil. Faith gives us confidence that we can wait for the answer that we seek because we trust in the unfailing love of God.

Trust is the fruit of faith and confidence in God. Trust will become a sure compass for our troubled times and a valuable light to others who want to find their way in the darkness. As darkness increases, our trust will be a sure anchor for our soul. If there is no reverence, faith or trust in God, there will be no anchor.
