I do not trust in my bow; my sword does not bring me victory; but You give us victory over our enemies.
Psalm 44:6-7a
Armies over the centuries have trusted in the sword and bow to conquer and rule. The Lord does not need these weapons. Our God knows that the heart of a man is the mightiest weapon, not his bow or sword. When man’s heart trusts in God, God can bring forth a victory in which He displays His power and not the power of human flesh. This is because God has used the simple things to confound the wise. (I Corinthians 1:27)
God has designed the human heart to squeeze the maximum amount of benefits from trusting in Him. There are so many opportunities for a heart to be a weapon in many different situations. Weapons are more effective when they are focused and passionately expressed. God uses our emotions to express His heart and build His kingdom on earth.
