Deliver me from my enemies, O God, protect me from those who rise up against me. Psalm 59:1

This verse highlights the value of our relationship with God. Another way of defining deliver is to make good on a promise given. A way of looking at this would be to remember how parents protect their young children with great care, devotion and diligence. They would not willingly allow any enemy to threaten their children.

In our life, we will have many obstacles and or enemies rise up against us to block our way or to defeat us. Wouldn’t it be great to have powerful people to protect you when you are in danger? It seems that for humans these problems and obstacles are a regular occurrence. Therefore, a strong relationship with our God is so important and reassuring.

This is also why God designed families to protect and love its members into more successful and productive lives. Almighty God is the only One who is completely dependable in His promises of protecting us when our enemies rise up against us.
