My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. Psalm 62:1

The question remains for us where do we go to find rest, peace, comfort and inspiration? God is constantly asking us, “Do you want to come to Me for what you need?” David had already made up his mind that his soul found rest in the goodness and mercies of God alone.
He came to this conclusion by spending time with God and experiencing the goodness of God on an intimate and personal level. This knowledge came to David through trials and spending time with God.
Salvation is a very broad subject and comes to us on many different levels of our experience. Our salvation comes from Christ dying on the cross and knowing that we are saved because Christ paid the penalty of our sin. This crushes the power of fear in our lives and provides us with the rest that we need to move on in our lives. The more that we are sure of our destiny, there is less room for fear, lies and deception to exist. This verse that David wrote was a shout of triumph. Could we say the same thing about ourselves and our future?
