God alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress; I will never be shaken.
Psalm 62:2

David makes an unshakeable statement about his salvation in this verse. He is not afraid of trials because his faith in his God is so deep. Where would you go or what would you do if your life was a gigantic spiritual earthquake that shook you to your very core? David has already decided where he would put his confidence if such an event occurred.

It is a marvelous thing that God is the bedrock of any situation where David needed salvation. He was so sure of it that he could not be shaken. It is our challenge to find and grow into a similar confidence that eliminates our fears and doubts about our future. God is always interested in building that kind of confidence in us just as He did for David. David was able to use the challenges and traumas of his life to build faith with God’s help. We can always ask God for help when we face our challenges and trials.
