Restore us O Lord God Almighty; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved. Psalm 80:19

When was the last time that you felt the Lord’s face shine upon you? This phrase is an old way of saying, show us favor Lord and give us Your grace and mercy because we are in trouble. The psalmist thought that being saved was a form of complete victory in the situation. Were we not like that many times in our lives? The term, make your face, indicates that the Lord chose to do so of His own free will and not because we have earned His blessing or His favor.
Restore in this passage might mean to return us to a place where we feel comfortable and safe. All of us would like to take what we did back when it turns out to be a big mistake. Our sins can put us in position where our judgment is clouded, and our motives become questionable. These kinds of mistakes invite more occasions of fear. It is in this condition that we feel the need to be saved from our errors in judgment and action
