God will respond to the prayer of the destitute; He will not despise their plea. Psalm 102:17

We are experiencing an everlasting loving relationship between God and us. This is a wonderful thing, especially in view of all the brokenness in the families and people around us. One of the things that love does most often is respond to the need of the loved. When we examine our lives, we can create new explanations and definitions of the word destitute. We are only truly destitute when we have no one to turn to and no solution at hand.

We search for relationships and friendships that are always open to our needs. God can promise to do this because His very nature is to love us. In loving us, He has committed Himself to constantly and consistently care for our weak and fearful hearts with His strong and steadfast love. This enables us to have a place of refuge in our trouble and to feel safe and secure when our enemies are seeking to destroy us. Our God has no rival and no equal. Nothing can stand against Him or stop His saving hand.
