The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. Psalm 103:6

The Psalmist in this verse combines the concepts of righteousness and injustice. This is important because it is necessary for God’s kingdom to have its proper effect in our lives. In this case, righteousness applies to the actions of God that affect our character and our decisions of morality. Because we are humans, we often need a tune up in this area to experience the blessings that God has for us. God blesses the righteous but eventually will correct the unrighteous at the proper time to produce the most fruit. Only God knows how to do this correctly.

The concept of justice applies to the actions of God and other people who ignore the balance of justice in their actions and activities. Justice is an equal balance for all the parties involved. Truth applies here because it affects how God will deal with the actions of men.

We are oppressed when people act unjustly or unrighteously. When this occurs, falsehood flourishes and produces more fear and uncertainty in us. It is God’s truth in our lives that produces confidence, courage, correct behaviors and decisions. His Holy Spirit is always available to us if we want to ask for wisdom and direction concerning these matters.
