Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress. Psalm 107:6

The actions of the Israelites are important here. They did not inquire, ask or murmur to the Lord. They cried out and revealed the deepest needs of the heart. Our God is a heart to heart God, and He has revealed His heart to us. He loves for us to express our hearts to Him. This is pure and plain communication with honesty and directness.
This is telling it like it is even though He knows how we already feel. God wants us to identify our emotions and tell Him about it. Part of a sincere and true relationship is that the parties involved can identify and own their emotions about the situation that they face.
The Lord delivered or snatched out, plucked, freed or removed them from a tight corner of danger. The generosity of God was revealed because often these tight spots or troubles were of their own making. These troubles came about because of their disobedience and habits of sinful behavior and rebellion where they did not follow the guidance of the Lord. This happened time and time again in many ways throughout their relationship with the Lord. Time and time again He delivered them out of their trouble despite their stubbornness and refusal to change to a more godly behavior. This would have not only helped them to avoid the trouble but put them into a pathway of blessing and honor.
