I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against You. Psalm 119:11

Memorizing the Word of God gives us an anchor and resolve in times of severe trouble and storm. Trouble and storms throw us into the hands of fear. The Word of God is a buttress, a sure defense and strong tower in the battlefield of the mind.

Satan attacks us in turbulent times with fear and intimidation, but the Word of God helps us to take every thought captive as it says in II Corinthians 10:5. The mind is the most dangerous battlefield of mankind.

Without discipline and resolve of the mind, our lives become an open target for attack, intimidation and destruction of hope from our enemy. This is ripe ground for the inhabitation of fear, doubt and despair. The truth in the Word of God breathes life and restores strength and hope to our wavering and weak souls. We hide the Word in our heart so that it is buried deeply in us and cannot easily be changed by the barrage of the enemy’s lies. Burying God’s Word in our heart is the sword that defeats the lies and intimidation of the enemy. Gods Word is the greatest treasure of mankind, a shining light of truth for every darkness and lie.
