Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.
Psalm 125:5
Sometimes we must walk through a veil of tears that is allowed by God. This might be from pain, grief, sorrow or even physical and emotional hurt. Whatever the case, for many of us the tears will flow. God has promised to put all our tears in a bottle and feels the pain simultaneously with us. We have been long puzzled by God’s decision to allow these tears in our life. This remains His act of love for us. In His great power, He can turn these tears into a greater good.
These tears are like seeds that are harvested from the ground of affliction and pain. Only God, in His great mercy can turn these tears into songs of joy. We do not think this is possible when we are feeling the pain, but someday God promises that we will reap a harvest of joy from these difficulties. It is hard for us to have this perspective as human beings because we only see the here and now; but the Lord sees it all and knows exactly what He will bring from it. When we have sorrow, one day we can know greater joy when God restores what we have lost. When we have pain, we know deeper peace that only God can give when we give our pain to God. By giving up anger and resentment, we can experience the riches of forgiveness. Such are the mysterious treasures of our amazing and tender God.
