June 7th

God, You discern my going out and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways.
Psalm 139:3

This has always been a wow verse to me! God loves us so much that He wants to be familiar with all our ways. This is the God who created and runs a vast and expanding universe, yet He cares about the small details of my life and makes note of it.

What kind of amazing love is this? Most people do not even care about the most important things in my life. My God cares about everything in my life.

Even more amazing is that I was created by God. He already knew when I would lie down and rise up as He knows everything about me. This would also mean that there would be no more room for fear about His lack of protection or care for me. Yet, God gives us an invitation to enjoy this kind of relationship with Him and does not force us to do so. It is rather an invitation of tender love and deep personal interest.
