He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He also hears their cry and saves them.
Psalm 145:19
When we are given life and confronted by God, we must decide what path we will take in this life. Do we want an easy life where all our desires are met as quickly as possible or do we want to take a harder road to be with God for eternity? Following the desires of the flesh leads to death but doing what God asks us to do will lead to life. We cannot do what God asks us to do without developing a relationship with Him. He is the only one who can give us the strength and wisdom to have such a relationship.

Jesus said that He is the only way to the Father in John 14:6. He is the only way to get into heaven and we must have a relationship with Him. The first step of this relationship is asking Jesus to forgive us of our sins and learn to walk in obedience with His commands for us.
Our human nature does not easily assent to doing this because we like to be in charge so that we can do whatever we want to do. We will find that being saved by Jesus will meet all the desires of our heart and infinitely more. He is more than we can ask for or even imagine.
