The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death. Proverbs 14:27

We like to blame the winds of fickle fate for our destiny when we don’t know the Lord. Once we know the Lord, our awareness changes. A thought turns into emotion which turns into a step. These steps can lead us down quite different paths. The Bible instructs us to constantly monitor our thoughts because they will eventually determine our reality one way or another. The enemy constantly seeks access into our thoughts because he knows it is a gate that he can use to control us, intimidate us and bring more fear into our lives.

The Bible gives us a constant fountain of life because of the words and the truths that are placed within it. When we grasp and meditate on the thoughts of the Lord, our steps and emotions are transformed into abundant life for ourselves, our friends, our families and others around us.

When we realize that there is no life without God in us, we develop a fear of the Lord or a great respect and need for Him. Without God, our enemy will lead us into the snares of death by controlling our thoughts, emotions and our steps or actions. Our lives are a constant struggle between life and death. Only God can ensure that we will choose the path of the fountain of life when we obey His Word found in the Bible.
