For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

This is not about a child; this is about THE child. Please forgive me parents. This is about the most important, capable, beautiful and magnificent child that will ever be born in the history of the human race. This verse is about the child who has anxiously been awaited since sin and evil crawled into history with Adam and Eve. This describes a child so capable that the government of the Kingdom of God will rest upon His shoulders. This is about a child who possesses infinite wisdom and counsel for every situation confronting man. This passage describes a child who will become the perfect reflection of the Father and Creator God.

God the Father gave His Son Jesus Christ these titles because Jesus will redeem us from sin and conquer darkness forever. The last title, Prince of Peace, not only applies to governments but to the individual person as well. As usual, God has created the perfect remedy for the ills, pain and sorrow of our suffering. It is because of Jesus Christ that our suffering, pain and sorrow will end when we are adopted into His eternal family. This is the most wonderful news.
