Say to those with fearful hearts, Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, He will come with vengeance; with divine retribution, He will come to save you. Isaiah 35:4

The fearful heart has lost hope and is wavering in strength. This man’s heart has despaired of a sense of justice or retribution and feels that he is a victim of his circumstances. He feels that there is none to help or understand his plight and struggle.
Self-pity keeps this kind of heart imprisoned from receiving love, hope and encouragement from others. The fearful man has no reason to feel that his circumstances will change.
People love the story when the impossible becomes possible; the hopeless are filled with hope and the weak become strong. This is what happens when God arrives on the scene. When God comes, darkness flees, hopelessness evaporates, and strength rises again in our hearts to dispel fear. The perfect Judge of the Universe will provide perfect justice and retribution in the act of saving us.
