The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of our God stands forever.
Isaiah 40:8

The grass and the flowers in this verse are a picture of our lives here on earth compared to eternity with God. God has created everything for its time, season and purpose. Human beings like to hold onto the purposes that they think are correct for themselves and other created things.
God has a timetable for things that we cannot understand and accept with our finite minds. Man’s purposes are fleeting, according to their needs, but God’s purposes are eternal and have everlasting purpose and value.
The Word of God is true and faithful and will stand the test of time and eternity. It is perfect and never changes. It is a plumb line by which all things are measured. It is the Word of life and creation. No one can ever change or challenge the authenticity of God’s Word. The Word of God is a perfectly formed weapon against fear, doubt and anxiety. It is our only offensive weapon against the attacks of the enemy. We can use this weapon at any time or place to dispel fear and increase our confidence when we hide God’s Word in our heart.
