God sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers… God brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing. Isaiah 40:22a, 23
Can anyone describe how big God is? Because all Scripture is inspired by God, Isaiah penned this passage to describe the Almighty God of Creation. Our minds can hardly grasp God’s description of Himself in His glory and power. In comparison to our magnificent Father God, we are like little grasshoppers. Yet, despite this, He loves us with such a tender and faithful affection.
The princes of this world cannot compare to the royalty of God, who is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. The rulers of this world have only limited power for a short duration. God has unlimited power for eternity. We can bring fear, doubt and problems to God without hesitation and find a wise and resourceful answer because God never loses control of this world. Our rulers may boast about themselves, but they are like the grass and God can bring them to nothing at any time.
