Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Isaiah 46:4

Treachery, trickery, betrayal and abandonment are what the world has to offer us. Faithfulness and true love are what God offers us. This is true even when we can do very little for God. In this verse, God uses tender words like carry, sustain and rescue to describe what He will do for you. It is very reassuring to us as our bodies grow old and frail.

In contrast, the world asks us the unspoken question of what have you done for me lately? The motives of God are pure, and the motives of men are defiled. God’s desire is to produce an everlasting and intimate relationship with us. His desire is to carry us, sustain us and rescue us up to our last breath and into eternity.
