I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save.

The crowd gathered with hushed expectation. The wedding couple promised their lifelong devotion to each other with great tenderness and affection. Someone in the church thought that was so sweet. You see, so many people in our society make sincere promises that they do not keep. This kind of atmosphere makes it hard for conditions of trust to be established and grow.

We are the Lord’s beloved and He has made a promise to us to save our children and contend with those who get in His way. This is one of the best promises of all from the Eternal One who never breaks a promise or tells a lie. Imagine the joy of being with your children forever together in heaven. Imagine them safe and being with God. Any parent would do anything to secure this kind of promise and result for their children. This is another example of the complete and unfailing love of our loving Father to His children.
