How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7

This is a lovely portrait of those who believe and obey the gospel or the good news. The mountains are an analogy to show their closeness to God by which they can reveal God’s heart and give it away to others who desire it. God commends His people for proclaiming the good news that God gives them.

God also wants to place a burning desire in the hearts of the people to proclaim the good news to men and for men of His salvation. This salvation affects every part of the person’s life, including mind, body and soul. God wants to renew, change and transform our mind to be like the mind of Christ. This is a prescription for troublesome times when men have come to the end of their ability to cope with fear, doubt and other assorted ills of the human condition. This prescription offers God’s comfort, redemptive ideas for our troubles and shows the supremacy of God over the affairs of men in every area. Our God reigns!
