The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you but will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

We all love to be with our best friend, but our God is much more than that. He is an all-knowing singing Mighty Warrior who sings about us. If our best friend sang about us, we might get embarrassed. There is no reason for embarrassment when Almighty God sings over you. The Lord sings because His heart is overflowing with love.

The Lord’s heart is overflowing with love because He delights in you. It was this way before the beginning of time and before you were ever made. God delights in us because of the great plans He has for us to reveal and expand His Kingdom. God created you down to even the smallest detail to reveal His glory and complete His purpose for making you. Because you are precious and unique to God, He will defend you like a Mighty Warrior when you are threatened. It is because of this great love for you that His reproach will turn to rejoicing over you with singing.
