Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:20-21

Humans are in a lifelong search for what they value. We seek, scramble and tussle for a long list of what our world declares to be great treasure. With great determination, we may obtain them but find that they lose their glitter and importance over time. Our frustration grows as we realize that these treasures do not meet the deepest desires of our soul.

Love is and always has been the greatest treasure of all mankind. Love is immortalized on the tablets of our heart and the stories of our soul. Songs and stories recount great and heroic acts of love because God Himself is love. The treasure of love is one of the greatest treasures of God’s heart. It reflects God’s character, nature and attitude towards us undeserving individuals. Whatever we do for God and His kingdom is an everlasting and heavenly treasure. We will forget things, but we will always remember the love of God and the love of His family.
