Therefore, I tell you do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Matthew 6:25, 27

Worry is the first cousin to fear. Worry muddles our mind and stifles the solutions of the Holy Spirit for us. We often spend much more time taking care of our body than taking care of our spirit. Our body will pass away into dust, but our spirit will be everlasting. When we spend excess time feeding the needs of our body and our flesh, we neglect our relationship with God.

We are powerless to guarantee the lifespan of our body. Concentrating on the body leads to bondages, worry and addiction. However, when we switch our focus to life with God, we can experience freedom, peace and focus that we need to live a more intimate and fulfilling friendship with our Creator.
