For where two or three come together in My name, there am I with them. Matthew 18:20
Fear thrives when it can promote isolation, division and rumor. It is in this division and disunity that fear gains power and influence among men and groups of people. It is a lot easier to fear trouble when a person is isolated rather than in a group of many supportive people. It is also easier for fear to speak lies into willing ears and to raise doubts about loyalty, cooperation and unity when we are afraid.
Coming together in prayer is an important aspect of how Christians do life. Prayer is the engine that fuels a community. Our loving God uses individuals to do His work by constantly building community to strengthen us to accomplish God’s goals. This is one reason why God encourages agreement with God and among men because isolation weakens us, and God wants us to have the mind of Christ.
