Everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first. Matthew 19:29-30
Fear and sin forces us to walk through this life with a sense of longing and loss. We often wonder if our sacrifices were worth the cost of our investment in them. This is especially true in our turbulent and troubled world of empty promises and unfulfilled dreams. All this sacrifice makes us feel insignificant and small when we compare ourselves to those who seem to have everything. We constantly wrestle with feelings of jealousy and unfairness in this life.

Father God is watching and even a cup of cold water given in Jesus’ name will be recorded as worthy of a reward and forever remembered. Our sacrifice is not in vain. Our God treasures every act of love and kindness done in His name. God’s greatest delight is to make us aware that we are honored first and not last when we humbly submit to His plan for us.
