Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-39
We find ourselves in a fragile and vulnerable human body looking for a way to find meaning in life. Jesus tells us that love is the way to find fulfillment and meaning while we are on this planet. The primary way that Jesus’ followers will be evaluated by God is how we express love to God and to one another. The act of love is so important and meaningful that it will take living in obedience to God’s Word to live it out. This includes loving God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength.
The heart is the center of our emotions, especially in love. If we give the impression that we only love someone casually, they would not take us very seriously. If we love them lightly, they would shrug it off. God wants us to love Him totally with all our heart and with deep affection and commitment. He also wants us to love others in the same way.

We must choose each day how we express this valuable gift of love. When Jesus encountered someone on the earth, they felt like they were the most important person at that time because of His intense love and focus on what they were saying and feeling.
