The King will reply, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for Me. Matthew 25:40

In our warped society, people become steppingstones for promotion and advancement instead of treasuring our relationships with people. It is very easy for any one of us to become the least of these when we are not profitable to someone else. This causes suspicion and fear to be more rampant in relationships. This works to shred the fabric of our society.

Jesus teaches us to value and cherish everyone as a unique and precious treasure of God. This means that we need to have a high regard for people that are less fortunate than we are. We first need to change our thinking about the less fortunate and act according to the teachings of Jesus to value and esteem others. When we treat the least of as Jesus would, He credits us with the same value as doing this deed for Him.
