I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. Mark 10:15

The phrase, I tell you the truth, is Scriptures way of saying to pay close attention to this. Throughout Jesus ministry, He emphasized profound simplicity rather than worldly wisdom. People in the world like to take control and feel like they can run their own lives. They feel that they have the knowledge and influence to control their own destiny as well as other people. They put little trust in the Word of God or in God to help them.

A little child is not sophisticated and depends totally on the care of his parents or other authority figures to live and be safe. This utter dependency is how we must relate to God to enter His Kingdom. Trust in God’s goodness, love and care like a little child is built by daily acts of obeying and trusting God in the little things. We also can learn to trust by regularly expressing our love and devotion to Father God for His love and protection. His Word is also a love letter to His children, and we can stand on His promises that He will never leave or forsake us.
