In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:33

This sounds like a harsh statement, but we will be facing harsh times. We are being confronted by an all-out attack on our freedom, love and Godly values. We need to develop a resolute heart to resist the attack of our hated enemy, Satan. We must make a firm decision on who or what we will become. We cannot really possess a treasure that we do not make sacrifices for. The greater the sacrifice we make, the result will be a deeper and more precious treasure.

The goal of a disciple is to become like Jesus Christ, who possesses incalculable treasure and love. Any sacrifice we make to obtain this prize would pale in comparison.

This journey, or pilgrimage, is realized by a series of lifetime relationship choices, where we express our love, affection and devotion to Jesus Christ. Our life choices should reveal that we set our eyes on God and not the things of the world.
