Jesus said, “Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”
Luke 23:34

Evil and sin make us go insane. We lose our ability to make judgments and measure reality appropriately. This also happened in the life of Jesus, where the people around Him were deceived and did not know His true identity as the Son of God. They preferred to take control and make assumptions about the character of Jesus that were not true. They were blinded to the truth and did not understand the gift that had been given by God.

Jesus was the Only Son of God and Co-Creator of the Universe, who freely sacrificed His life to give us salvation and life forever with God in heaven. Jesus lived a perfect life loving others and revealing the Father heart of God. There was no sin to be found in Him because He was pure and blameless.

Jesus forgave the people who did not believe He was the Messiah and crucified Him. If we are not careful, we can make the same mistake that the authorities did during His life on earth. We must also forgive others that hurt and misunderstand us for sharing the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ.
