I tell you the truth, whoever hears My (Jesus) word and
believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned, he has crossed over from death to life. John 5:24

With Christians, the purpose of life is to be part of God’s everlasting family. This is accomplished when we receive Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior and live a life according to the Word of God. It is in developing this relationship with Jesus that we pass from death to life.

As we begin to discover the implications of everlasting life, one stands out. We learn that we begin to live by becoming more like Jesus. Our mortal life is a mere shadow compared to the everlasting life provided by Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross of Calvary. We can also invite other people to share in this life and join God’s family. The focus on Jesus takes away the fear and sting of death.
