I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:5
Who would take a tiny infant away from his mother’s milk? This is the kind of dependency that God wants us to have upon His Word and our relationship to Jesus. We do not like to admit such weakness and helplessness. Jesus has stated clearly that without Him, you can’t do anything. Anything means anything. Our life breath, our strength, skills and talents all come from Jesus.
On the other hand, if we abide or remain in Jesus, meaning if you have a relationship like the branch and the vine, you can bear a lot of fruit or do much good for the Kingdom of God. God the Father is the vine dresser and He trims the branches so that they will be able to use their talents and skills the way Father God intended them to be used. Unless this is done in a relationship with Jesus, all talents and abilities would be worthless or amount to nothing. We do not want to accomplish nothing with the life we are given. We need the presence and power of Jesus to fight anxiety, fear and doubt every day of our lives.
