Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:35, 37

What do you hold as precious? How would you feel if you lost what was precious to you? Paul talks here about how precious his love for Christ was to him and how equally precious is Christ’s love for us! Paul continues to think about the human condition and what could possibly separate us from Christ. Paul gives us a list of devastating circumstances which could end our life or our faith.

The joyful conclusion that Paul came to was that nothing can separate us from the steadfast and faithful love of Christ. Since he was convinced that Jesus was God, Paul declared that no force or power was strong enough to conquer Christ’s love for us or in us. Because of Christ’s love in us, we can overcome any obstacle or trial with confidence and not fear or intimidation.
