That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10:9-10

We have a grateful kind of love for those who keep their promises. This is so unusual in our dark world of twisted meanings and stories. We love clear and concise statements of
what people intend to do and what they actually accomplished. We need to know what is required of us to gain what was promised to us.

Paul is very specific in letting us know what we need to do to be saved. To be saved is no small thing but has eternal rewards for those who do what is required. When our heart believes and our tongue confesses that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, we become part of Father God’s everlasting family.

What an honor and privilege it is to be accepted and loved by Almighty God and have a Savior that gave His very life to rescue us from eternal death. It has been God’s plan all along to offer this free gift to express His perfect and undeserved love for us. As we reflect on this great gift, we will grow in joy and gratitude.
