Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. I Corinthians 15:58 (NKJV)

We do not to live a life that is pointless or without direction of purpose, which would lead us to be frustrated, empty and wondering why we were created in the first place. God does not make junk. He does not do something for nothing.

God creates people and things to have beauty, purpose and meaning. God does not create things in vain; only sin makes our life meaningless and without lasting purpose

Paul instructs his fellow laborers in the Lord to be steadfast, immovable and flourishing in acts of love, kindness and service. It is by doing this that we will have a life that will be remembered by God forever because our life follows the Word of God. This will be the kind of life that will grow in radiance, beauty, love and cast out the darkness around us. Everything we do for the Lord, even the smallest glass of cold water given in His name, will be recorded and remembered forever.
