I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great power for us who believe. Ephesians 1:17-19a

An intense or intimate relationship requires that we relate on multiple levels. This requires both giving and receiving back and forth. As we learn to relate to God, this is also true. We must acknowledge to God our ignorance to receive His wisdom. We also need to acknowledge our darkness and sin to receive His revelation of the truth. We need to ask God for His love to ease our pain and loneliness. To receive the riches of God, we must acknowledge the poverty of our spirit.

Great and unlimited power is available in our relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. We must put our relationship with Him first to participate more fully in His work on earth. It is the gift of faith that ignites the exchange of power between God and us. We can participate more fully in God’s purposes when we become closer to Jesus Christ. In this way, we can develop the mind of Christ and walk with His power and authority for our daily problems and difficulties. To walk with hope, we must develop a life of prayer and trust in the character of Jesus our Savior.
