December 6th

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Fear and anxiety sink their razor sharp and tenacious claws into our hearts and minds. These claws strike up frequent reminders of fears, failures and frustrations. Fear and anxiety have no mercy and assault us when we are most defenseless.

The antidote to fear and anxiety is praying about everything with a heart of gratitude and thanksgiving. When we present our requests to God with a grateful and trusting heart, the peace of God is given to us. This protects our heart from the attacks of fear and anxiety caused by the evil one. The peace of God is a shield and guards our hearts and minds from the power of accusations and lies. When we build a lifestyle of gratefulness, it will fortify us for troubling and chaotic times.
