Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:15a, 17

Our world is full of trouble. It lurks in our hearts, our minds and in our plans. When we try to deal with our trouble, we seem to only get more trouble. We long for peace and try to find it in things and people that we meet. We find these things to be woefully insufficient to calm the fear and anxiety in our hearts. The people of the world long for peace politically and socially and they are constantly searching to find rest for their troubled souls.

When we let Christ rule in our hearts, then the peace of Christ can also take root. When the peace of Christ governs our hearts, then our actions radiate gratitude to Father God. When our focus is on Jesus Christ, His light in our heart cuts through the darkness of society by our deeds and words. The peace and light from Father God will begin to calm our fears and heal our pain.
