For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so, we will be with the Lord forever.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

A hopeless people is a lost people. They lack meaning, purpose and direction. It is part of the evil one’s plan to steal the hope of God’s people from them by enticing them into meaningless activities that do not produce lasting satisfaction. Sin offers us everything for the moment but gives us nothing in the long run. Mankind has been continually fooled by seizing upon a hope that is not really a hope.

Our real and true hope is in Jesus Christ. It is His second coming to earth that gives meaning, purpose and hope to life now and in the future. All other promises are like vapor that fade away. God’s promises of Jesus second coming to right every injustice and rule and reign forever with us at His side gives us great hope. Nothing could be more exciting for those who love God than this promise. When the trumpet sounds, hopelessness and anxiety flee, and hope is forever restored.
