But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and all the Gentiles might hear, and I was delivered from the lion’s mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory for ever and ever. Amen. 2 Timothy 4:17-18

Paul while writing this verse, confirms his way of living successfully with the Lord. He was one of the greatest minds of his time and few, if any, have studied the Bible as much as he did to discern the ways of the Lord. Paul writes this caring more about proclaiming the full message of the Lord than about his own life.

Victorious living comes from depending wholly on the strength of the Lord rather than your own. It comes from the humble awareness of our own weakness and awe at the faithfulness and care of the Lord to deliver us from Satan’s evil attacks. Paul’s rescue and safety came from his surrender to the Lord and his belief that he could be rescued from every dire predicament and ultimately ushered into God’s heavenly kingdom. We can obtain similar successes by surrendering similar circumstances to the Lord. By humbling ourselves before His deep love and invincible power, God can help us to remain faithful to the end of our lives. We pray that all glory will be given to God forever and ever.
