Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. 1 John 5:5

Have you ever been in a wrestling match? What was your opponent like? We are in a wrestling match with a world full of sin and pain, which is ruled by Satan. It wants to pin us, subdue us and smother the life out of us. Our enemy uses tactics of fear, doubt and intimidation to overwhelm us and convince us that we cannot win the battle. Satan lies to us and takes advantage of our every weakness and mistake.

In order to win the battle, you must believe that Jesus is the Son of God and fights with and for us. This is a critical principle that could be applied to many important situations in our life. Jesus provides the wisdom, strength and stamina to overcome the world. This war is won one day at a time and one battle at a time. However, our victory has eternal rewards and benefits for us. The good news is that Jesus never grows tired of fighting for and with us; therefore, we can always call upon Him for strength and assistance. This is a good fact to share with other friends and believers who are in a struggle like yours. We all need to pray for and encourage each other in our battles because we were not meant to fight alone. With Jesus there is hope and victory.
