And they sang a new song: “You (Jesus Christ) are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because You were slain, and with Your blood You purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.“ Revelation 5:9

Without this event in heaven, mankind would have been sentenced to a dirge of death, despair and destruction forever. Because of the very high cost of sin, only a sinless sacrifice from God’s own Son Jesus Christ would suffice to turn the wrath of Father God from destroying mankind. When Jesus took the scroll and preceded to open the seals, all of heaven erupted with praise and worship for the Savior of the world.

Jesus took on human form so that man could begin to understand and relate to God. Before Jesus came, Almighty God was mysterious and unknown to most of humanity. As a man, Jesus could speak plainly of God’s ways and model them to humanity. This was the centerpiece of Father God’s plan to rescue and redeem a sinful people from the devil’s clutches and the fires of hell. A marvelous result of this sacrifice was that the multitude of people covered every tribe, tongue and nation on the earth. No person, no matter how wretched or hard hearted, was left out of the sweeping act of mercy if they found forgiveness when Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice for pardoning their sins.
