Moses said to the people,“Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.” Exodus 20:20

The greatest disaster in our culture is losing the fear of God. It is not poverty, war or plagues. The fear of God is the most critical element of helping our society to continue to exist. Sin is so dangerous because the habit of sin causes men to go mad and lose all sense of morality and decency, which is necessary to a thriving society.

There is a long list of countries or empires who lost their fear of God. It is a sure invitation to the evil one to destroy our culture and our heritage.

Throughout history, the same thing happened to Rome, Greece, Babylon and Assyria. It is only God who has the power to keep us from sinning and forgives us when we do sin. God’s love is the power that keeps us together and makes us whole.
